Learning On My Doorstep, Museums Enriching the Curriculum, a partnership project between Surrey County Council’s Surrey Heritage and Surrey Museums Partnership supported by an Arts Council England Strategic Support grant. The project was developed in response to National Curriculum changes and supported museums to develop sustainable, local relationships with schools.

Part of a small project delivery team Sonia managed the project jointly with Fran. By working closely with the schools, and museum and heritage learning providers we achieved and surpassed the delivery outcome targets for participation in the project. The project evaluation demonstrated the development of sustainable relationships with schools based on whole school relationship building rather than supply-demand driven relationships.

Based on the successful delivery of Learning On My Doorstep, Museums Enriching the Curriculum the partnership secured further funding from Arts Council England to deliver Learning On My Doorstep, Building Local Cultural Connections.
