Chichester Community Development Trust: Graylingwell Heritage Project Evaluation

Graylingwell Heritage Project was a complex, multi-partnership Heritage Lottery Fund Our Heritage project focussed on uncovering the hidden history of Graylingwell Hospital (formerly the West Sussex County Asylum).

Working with the project manager an evaluation methodology, an evaluation framework and data collection tools were developed and adapted to the meet the specific project outcomes and Heritage Lottery Fund guidance.

A small-scale project with limited resources the data collection tools were designed to be easy to use by project staff. This quantitative data was augmented by qualitative consultation collected through 1-2-1 interviews with the project team at the end of project and face-face questionnaires with participants during the course of the project.

The evaluation report provided evidence for successful applications to the Heritage Lottery Fund Start Up Grant and the Architectural Heritage Fund Development Grant.
