Based on the success of Learning On My Doorstep, Museums Enriching the Curriculum, Surrey Heritage and Surrey Museums Partnership secured further funding from Arts Council England for a further phase – Learning On My Doorstep, Building Local Cultural Connections

Sonia and Fran are excited to be working once again on the management and delivery of this phase of Learning On My Doorstep. The 18-month project is:

  • Enabling Surrey museums and other cultural partners from across Surrey to build relationships with school alliances and target ‘cold spots’ of cultural engagement.
  • Creating a programme of activities between project partners and the education sector to challenge equality and diversity in the cultural workforce.
  • Developing affordable and locally relevant CPD for Surrey Teachers and Initial Teacher Trainees.
  • Scoping the potential for Learning On My Doorstep as a business model for the wider cultural sector.

To support museums and schools with the building of relationships the Learning On My Doorstep team have recently delivered a successful Senior Leadership Network & Planning day. For museums and schools it provides the perfect opportunity for Senior Leaders to explore superb local cultural learning experiences and opportunities across the curriculum in depth, and review these against their school planning for the coming year.

“What an inspirational day! I am so excited about all these opportunities for our children. I had no idea and can’t wait to share with staff. Thank you for a day very well spent.”
